As an Occupational Therapist (OT), I’m a daily life specialist who supports clients of all ages and backgrounds to improve key relationships and daily living functions.
As part of my daily role, I carry out daily living functional assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions to suit client goals.
In 2016 I made a career switch from IT and business management to Occupational Therapy. While completing my degree I gained additional skills and experience through my role as a Teacher Aid at Currimundi Special School and as a Disability Support Worker. This has provided me with the insight and skills on how to provide practical advice and direction to my client's support team.
As a parent of a child with a disability, I know what it’s like to be a parent following through with therapeutic interventions and how challenging this can be. That’s why I want to be realistic and work with the family to meet your goals and fit in with your time and energy.
I’m big on skills development by meeting clients where they are at in their learning journey and providing evidenced-based therapy sessions and a “Just Right” approach by increasing difficulty at a level my clients are comfortable with, to ensure confidence is maintained. This allows clients to believe in their abilities and to develop their strengths so that they can do what they hold important and meaningful and do it safely.
